Social Responsibility (SR) programs should be embraced by most organizations, as socially responsible supply chains are in a position to help any organization in value creation by reducing its costs while helping the environment and the community. The goal is for an organization to differentiate itself from its peers and obtain a competitive advantage in its supply chain. Socially responsible programs, when embraced by all levels of an organization, can lead to sustained competitive advantage in the marketplace.
