Call for Papers — 2012 North American Research Symposium

FOR RELEASE: September 28, 2011

Supply professionals and academics are invited to submit proposals through October 21, 2011.

(Tempe, Ariz.) September 28, 2011 — Plan now to join your distinguished colleagues from academia, research and business at the 22nd Annual North American Research Symposium on Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (NARS). Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) is accepting abstracts and proposals for consideration to be presented at the symposium, to be held March 15-16, 2012 at the Hilton Phoenix/Chandler. This unique forum presents both academicians and practitioners to share completed research, as well as support collaboration and encourage increased interdisciplinary research in purchasing and supply management.

This innovative program focuses on research in the fields of supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, materials management, information technology, professional development and talent management, and decision science. The agenda features an inventive mix of presenters from business and academia, creating opportunities to explore the application of theoretical research to create business solutions.

Submissions will be accepted in five categories: (1) competitive proposals; (2) working papers; (3) symposium session proposals; (4) practitioner papers; and (5) teaching cases. Abstracts and proposals proceed through a blind review and are rated on appropriateness of the topic for the symposium, organization (logical flow of ideas), theoretical soundness, appropriateness of the research methodology and contribution to research or instruction.

For complete specifications and instructions, visit the NARS information page on the ISM website and download a 2012 NARS Call brochure and writing guidelines.

CAPS Research grants research scholarships of US$750 to up to 30 junior faculty members or current doctoral students to support participation in the North American Research Symposium on Supply Chain Management. The scholarships will be provided for paper/session proposals or cases accepted for presentation at the symposium.
