Journal of Supply Chain Management Now on Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Knowledge℠
FOR RELEASE: August 3, 2010
(Tempe, Ariz.) August 3, 2010 — The journal of choice for supply management scholars, Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM), has gained entry to a world-renowned citation database of more than 10,000 research journals. Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Knowledge℠ added the Journal following a rigorous evaluation of the publication's impact, influence, timeliness, peer review and geographic representation.
Now in its 46th year, the Journal of Supply Chain Management is published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM). The Journal publishes papers by thought-leaders and top scholars in the field of supply management, as well as related disciplines including marketing channels and strategy, transaction cost economics, operations management and social network analysis.
According to Co-Editors-in-Chief Craig R. Carter, Ph.D., and Lisa M. Ellram, Ph.D., securing inclusion on the ISI Web of Knowledge℠ citation database is a huge accomplishment. "Our mission is to be the journal of choice across disciplines," Carter says. "The Journal's inclusion in this database will continue to help clarify and enhance understanding of the various aspects of supply chain management to individuals worldwide who can now incorporate relevant Journal content into their scholarly research and decision-making. It will also help to quantify the impact of research published in the Journal, and will encourage even greater submissions from authors located outside the U.S."
The Journal can be located on Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Knowledge℠ — Science by searching the term "Journal of Supply Chain Management" in the Master Journal List field. Acceptance into ISI will also assign the Journal an impact factor (a measure of relative importance based on average number of citations) based on articles published from 2008 onward.
